ポーランド共和国の独立回復100周年を記念して開かれた国際科学会議“On the Identity of Poles”の記録。
ポーランド人から見た第一次世界大戦後の現代史、亡命ロシア人作家がポーランド語で執筆する作家になっていくまで、現代ポーランドが工業化し、外資導入を通じて形成するナショナルアイデンティティの変遷など、歴史、文化、政治、経済など各分野の専門家が、様々な側面からポーランド人のアイデンティティを分析した論文集。
